How to do a Vertical Roll

Posted by Louise On January - 16 - 2010ADD COMMENTS

Start by parting the hair in to four sections down the middle of the head and then from ear to ear making a cross.

Then with the two back sections you need to backcomb the roots and mid-lengths (do not backcomb to the tips of the hair as you will find it very hard to smooth over.

With the two top sections of the head you need to lightly backcomb them at the root this will give volume trying not to put to much round the front of the head as it will show.

Going back to the back sections of the head smoothing one side of the hair to the middle of the head and secure with grips.

Tip
Put grips in like a Chris cross affect this is so no hair can slide out and when you get to the top put one grip going down.

Then with the other side of the head smooth the hair back over to the middle of the head over lapping the section you have just done, rolling in the ends to tuck them in the middle to create a long bun then starting at the bottom of the head secure with grips to the top of head making sure they dont show.

With the top sections of the head start with one of the side smooth the hair to the back of the head with out flattering the hair to much add the hair to the back section securing with grips do same with other side,

Now with the top section you need to smooth and then blend in to the rest of the hair or you code make a curl making sure you still grip in to place.

How to do an Under Plait

Posted by Louise On January - 16 - 2010ADD COMMENTS

Starting at the front of the head take a small triangle section then split in to three equal sections, holding one section in the left hand and two in the right hand.

With section 1 take under section 2 then bring section 3 under section 1, and then you have to bring section 2 back under section 3. At this stage you need to add a small section of hair from the left side of the head approximately the same width as the original sections. You then bring section 1 back under section 2 holding hair securely in y our left hand adding a small section of hair from the right side of the head. While at top of the head always bring sections up to the centre of the head .As you get to the back of the head, approximately inline with the ear, bring sections across to the middle of the head instead of up as the angle changes with the head. Once you reach the nape of the neck, start to add sections coming down. When you have reached the stage where you are passed the nape, carry on as if you were plaiting a normal plait.

How to Back Comb your Hair

Posted by Louise On January - 16 - 2010ADD COMMENTS

The best way to back comb hair is to take a small section of hair about 4cm by 4cm, once you have the section holding it tight, using a dressing out comb or if you do not have one of those you can use fine tooth comb.
Put the comb in to the middle of the section then start using backwards and forwards motions making sure that when you go back towards the head that you push the backcombed hair down this will make it tighter.

How to have Kylie Minogue look

Posted by Louise On January - 16 - 2010ADD COMMENTS

How to get the cut;

You will need mid-way length this mean’s between jaw and shoulder length.
This is incredibly versatile allowing you to create fun and texture.
Adding layer’s to the cut is good to add curls to which will give it a volumes finish rather that a bouffant finish.

How to get the colour;

Luckily for Kylie she has natural dark blonde hair so that is the base colour to start with then you have o add some highlights going to a bright vanilla cream tone.
Both of these colours together will help to create a glossy look.

How to style;

If you are as lucky as Kylie and have naturally curly hair all you would need is some styling mousse and a diffuser.
But if you have straight hair you will need to add some product this will help encourage curls to stay in then you need some curling tongs and start to tong your hair in small sections, Once you have done that you will now need to grabbing sections from the side and back and start pinning them in to place making sore you leave the top section to fall freely.
I away like to finish with a shine spray to give you extra gloss.

5 minute guide to prevent split ends

Posted by Louise On January - 16 - 2010ADD COMMENTS

1) Try not to over wash and dry your hair, spending hours upon hours styling your hair as this will result in you coursing breakage.

2) Try to reduce chemical damage. It is always best to not over perm, colour and straighten your hair. It is best to limit your self to one or two chemical treatments and make sure to always trim away over processed hair.

3) It’s always helps if you have a brake and give your hair a detox or a deep conditioner and I would do this every fourth shampoo, with the deep conditioning treatment I would try to keep it in for about 15 minutes.

4) It a well know fact that we are all to tough with are hair so when brushing your hair try not to tug and pull as this can course split ends especially when your hair is wet. It is always good to use a good quality brushes and always comb out tangles from the ends.

5) It will always help your hair if you have a good diet such as foods with vitamins and also mineral- packed for e.g. nuts, berries, and broccoli also foods that are rich in zinc and omega 3, 6 and 9 and oily fish is also good.

6) It is always a good idea to give are hair a rest from all the hot styling tools like tongs, hairdryers and straighter as all these tools can dry your hair out and course split ends.
