How to get simple gorgeous hair in 5 easy steps

Posted by Louise On February - 15 - 2010

Going out and don’t know what to do with your hair here are 5 easy ways to wear your hair.

The some up some down
1) After washing your hair you need to finger dry your hair this will release the natural texture of your hair.
Now you need to divide the hair into 2 sections top and bottom you need to do this at ear level.

2) Once you have your top and bottom sections you need to brush back the top section and fix it with an elastic hair band, always make sure you brush all the bumps out.

3) Now that is in place you need to twist some hair around the elastic hair band as if you were doing a bun and then fix with a grip.

4) Now with a bristle brush you need to back comb the hair that is hanging loose this will add some volume.

5) If you have a fringes leave it smooth, all you have to do now is lightly mist you hair with hairspray and shine spray.

The nice and knotty

1) After washing your hair you need to finger dry it but when you are doing this you need to let your natural texture come through.

2) Once your hair is dry you need to make a short zigzag parting, you can do this by using a pin tale comb.

3) Now make two small pigtails in the nape of your neck but keep them close together at the same time, do not brush the hair in tightly.
Now put the top of the pigtails forward this will create fullness on your crown.

4) With each pigtail you need to separate them in three sections now you need to twist each section till they start to buckle back on them self and then grip them in place at the elastic hair band.

5) Now you have done that all you need to do now is tuck most of the stray pieces of hair into the elastic hair band.
I would leave the fringe to lie naturally and a few wayward strands loose.
Now spray lightly with hair spray and sine spray.

The fab free form

1) Once you have washed your hair you need to add some mousse and blow dry with a round brush.

2) Now that your hair is now dry you need set it on medium size hot rollers and leave them in for 10-15 minutes.

3) Now remove the rollers and once you have done that you need to separate your hair into two sections top and bottom from ear to ear.
Now you need to tie the bottom section of hair at the nape of the neck with an elastic hair band.

4) Now braid the hair a twist the braid over the elastic hair band just like you would to do a bun, secure it in with hair grips the best way to do this is four hair grips one at the top and bottom and one ever side.

5) Now with the top bit of hair you need to twist it lightly towards the back of the head, pin this in place at the elastic hair band. Lightly mist with hairspray and shine spray and your ready to go.

The cluster of curls

1) Once you have washed your hair you need to add some mousse and blow-dry with a medium size round brush.

2) Now your hair is dry you need to separate your hair into two sections top and bottom from ear to ear and pull back into a ponytail using an elastic hair band.

3) The hair that is in a ponytail now needs to be put into to hot rollers for about 15 minutes or in till it has cooled down, once they have cooled you need to remove the rollers and finger comb the curls in to place.

4) Now you need to twist the hair into smaller curls and fix with grips.

5) With the top section of hair you need to fold it back and fix it directly above your ponytail at the elastic hair band (make sure you do this loosely) all you have to do now is simply put a light mist of hairspray and shine spray.

The posh pony

1) Once you have washed and blow dried your hair you need to straighten your hair super straight.

2) Now brush your hair to just under your occipital bone and fix with two to three elastic hair bands this will make it extra tight.

3) Now with a bristle brush you need to smooth the top hair and spray with hair spray, now switch to a tail comb and smooth the hair at the top again.

4) Now taking a small piece of hair from underneath the ponytail. You need to flatten this piece of hair with your fingers and spray with hair spray.

5) Now with the piece of hair that you have just fattened you need to wrap it round the elastic hair bands and fix with a grip under your ponytail lightly spray with hair spray and shine spray.

Posted by Louise On February - 15 - 2010

What is Ringworm?

Ringworm of the scalp is a fungal infection the medical term for ringworm is tinea capitis.

How is ringworm caught?

In most cases ringworm is transferred by contact with animals like cows, dogs, cats, hamsters and guinea pigs.
Most mammals have this skin fungus but do not have any symptoms but this can still be transferred to humans.
You can also get ringworm from another person that already has it via touching and sharing towels.
Fungi and their spores can live for long periods of time on brushes, unwashed towels and furniture.
There are some people that are carriers of fungi that means they have fungi on their skin and hair but it dose not invade into there skin this means they do not get infected and have no symptoms, so they will pass the fungi onto other people who will then get symptoms.
You will find scalp ringworm will mainly affect children and it is rare in adults, this is because of the normal skin oil (sebum) which increases on the scalp after puberty has properties that will make it resistant to fungi.

What symptoms will I have?

You may find one or more sections of the scalp will show hair loss or give a stubbly appearance.
You will find the skin will be slightly scaly with a little or no irritation.

You may fine the infection just looks like you have really bad dandruff on various places of your scalp; this can some times be mistaken as psoriasis.

You will alternatively get a 6 to 9cm wide lesion that may develop in to a large rash.

You may find a kerion will become inflamed and fill with pus or fluid, which will also be very painful.
This can cause permanent scarring and hair loss if not treated early enough.

If you find you have severe infection such as kerion or pustules you may find you develop a fever and the glands in your neck may swell in rare cases.

How do I get ringworm diagnosed?

It is best to go and see a doctor as there are many other skin diseases that have similar symptoms which require very different treatments.

Your doctor may take a scraping of the fungi so it can be microscopic checks and cultivation to identify it.
Once you have been diagnosed you will need to start your treatment straight away to avoid the ringworm infection spreading further and also to avoid infection of other people.

What is the treatment I will get?

The most common treatment is anti-fungal medicine which is taken by mouth.
If a large kerion have formed the antifungal treatment may be supplemented with corticosteroids for a short time.

Wedding hair

Posted by Louise On February - 4 - 2010
Your wedding day is one of the most important day of a girls life.
So making sure everything is perfect, this includes everything from the flowers to the cake etc:
So when it comes to your hair it needs to look better than ever.
When it comes to your hair you need to get an idea of the way you would like it to look that appeals to you the most.
Most brides perfer a different style, Some like an up do while others like it down.
When you are thinking about your hair there are several bits you need to think about.
1) The theme of your wedding
2) The style of your wedding dress
3) The type and length of your hair
4) The type of veil or if you would like one or not
5) Whether you want a head piece or hair jewerly
So here is why you have to think about these things.
The reason of thinking about the theme of your wedding is because you will want your hair to match.
Aways remember you are not only having to think about your hair but also your bridesmaids hair too and you will find they will have a variety of hair styles.
For example:
If you want a victorian style wedding where all the ladies had long curly hair you will find that if you have a bridesmaid with short hair they will have a big challenge to deal with.
The reason you have to think about the style of your wedding gown is because if your dress is an off the shoulder style, than a hairstyle that falls on to your bare shoulders would work well, but if you have an high-collared dress you would be better off having a style that is worn up.
The reason you have to consider the type and length of your hair is because if you have very fine hair that is mid-length but want a hair style that is long and fill you may need to add a hair piece on.
The reason you have to think about whether you want a veil or not is because with some styes of dresses dont go with a veil and the style of your hair might not need a veil.
The reason you need to think about head pieces or hair jewelry is because they will need to be able to go in the style of your hair and also with the theme of your wedding too.

How to do finger waves

Posted by Louise On February - 4 - 2010
Finger waves are very popular at the moment especaliy if you are into the fashion of 1920s, 1930s hair styles and also the burlesque hair styles, it is a great way to wear your hair wether you are going out or just fancy a change.
If you are not sure of what finger waves look like a good way to see is to watch chicago and have a look at Renee Zellwiger’s hair style.
Here are some tips on how to do finger waves.
First thing you have to do is wash and towel dry your hair then add some styling products.
Now  you are ready to comd your hair into ridges and curves with your fingers.
All ways decide where you want to start the waves then lay youe middle finger flat across your hair now take your comb and press it against the side of your finger, now in one inch sections drag the comb making sure the teeth of your comb are straight down side ways along your fingers untill you have created a ridge.
Now with out lifting the comb lay it flat against the scalp.
Now you need to press your index finger next to youe middle finger, gently press the ridge you have just made to hold it tight.
Next you need to bring the comb teeth back to a vertical potision, using your comb again brushing your hair out and curve it back in the opposite direction than the last section.
As you do this make sure you move your middle finger down as you go, this will help you to contiue building the ridges, continue doing this as far as you can go.
At the end you should have a ridge of hair moving in one direction and a C shape wave in the opposite direction.
Continue doing this all over your head once you have done this alowe to dry ( i would let it dry naturly my self)
Once your hair is dry you can comb it out gently, this will leave you with soft waves.
Now that you are happy with your style all you need to do is hairspray all over for extra hold and i always like to put on shine spray for that extra healthy look.
