Wedding hair

Posted by Louise On February - 4 - 2010ADD COMMENTS
Your wedding day is one of the most important day of a girls life.
So making sure everything is perfect, this includes everything from the flowers to the cake etc:
So when it comes to your hair it needs to look better than ever.
When it comes to your hair you need to get an idea of the way you would like it to look that appeals to you the most.
Most brides perfer a different style, Some like an up do while others like it down.
When you are thinking about your hair there are several bits you need to think about.
1) The theme of your wedding
2) The style of your wedding dress
3) The type and length of your hair
4) The type of veil or if you would like one or not
5) Whether you want a head piece or hair jewerly
So here is why you have to think about these things.
The reason of thinking about the theme of your wedding is because you will want your hair to match.
Aways remember you are not only having to think about your hair but also your bridesmaids hair too and you will find they will have a variety of hair styles.
For example:
If you want a victorian style wedding where all the ladies had long curly hair you will find that if you have a bridesmaid with short hair they will have a big challenge to deal with.
The reason you have to think about the style of your wedding gown is because if your dress is an off the shoulder style, than a hairstyle that falls on to your bare shoulders would work well, but if you have an high-collared dress you would be better off having a style that is worn up.
The reason you have to consider the type and length of your hair is because if you have very fine hair that is mid-length but want a hair style that is long and fill you may need to add a hair piece on.
The reason you have to think about whether you want a veil or not is because with some styes of dresses dont go with a veil and the style of your hair might not need a veil.
The reason you need to think about head pieces or hair jewelry is because they will need to be able to go in the style of your hair and also with the theme of your wedding too.

How to do finger waves

Posted by Louise On February - 4 - 2010ADD COMMENTS
Finger waves are very popular at the moment especaliy if you are into the fashion of 1920s, 1930s hair styles and also the burlesque hair styles, it is a great way to wear your hair wether you are going out or just fancy a change.
If you are not sure of what finger waves look like a good way to see is to watch chicago and have a look at Renee Zellwiger’s hair style.
Here are some tips on how to do finger waves.
First thing you have to do is wash and towel dry your hair then add some styling products.
Now  you are ready to comd your hair into ridges and curves with your fingers.
All ways decide where you want to start the waves then lay youe middle finger flat across your hair now take your comb and press it against the side of your finger, now in one inch sections drag the comb making sure the teeth of your comb are straight down side ways along your fingers untill you have created a ridge.
Now with out lifting the comb lay it flat against the scalp.
Now you need to press your index finger next to youe middle finger, gently press the ridge you have just made to hold it tight.
Next you need to bring the comb teeth back to a vertical potision, using your comb again brushing your hair out and curve it back in the opposite direction than the last section.
As you do this make sure you move your middle finger down as you go, this will help you to contiue building the ridges, continue doing this as far as you can go.
At the end you should have a ridge of hair moving in one direction and a C shape wave in the opposite direction.
Continue doing this all over your head once you have done this alowe to dry ( i would let it dry naturly my self)
Once your hair is dry you can comb it out gently, this will leave you with soft waves.
Now that you are happy with your style all you need to do is hairspray all over for extra hold and i always like to put on shine spray for that extra healthy look.

Tips for your hair on your wedding day

Posted by Louise On January - 26 - 2010ADD COMMENTS

Your wedding day is supposed to be the best day of your lift the one you have dreamed of since you were a little girl so it is only natural to want to look your very best.
So here are some tips to help your day go smoothly.

1) When you are planning you wedding make sure your hairstyle, make up and dress all go together as you would not like a conflict at the last minute.
Try not to wear too much make up and choose your colours carefully so that it matches your attire.

2) Always choose your head dress and veil if you are having one before you choose your hairstyle, this is because not all styles and head dresses or veils go together.

3) It is always a good idea to have a few practice go’s with your hair to make sure that you are fully happy with it and also to make sure the stylist can do exactly what you want.
Doing this will also show up all the flaws in your plan (if any), and this will put you at ease on the day.

4) When choosing your hair style always remember the style of your wedding dress so you can try to match the style.
Remember you can always add hair extensions and hair pieces which will give you volume, length and change you complete look.
This is your wedding day so put a bit more effort it to your style (you won’t have to do it everyday).

5) Taking good care of your hair (you should be doing this already) but if your hair is in bad condition you will need to start looking after it now, as it can take you to 6 months to get your hair back to its full condition.
If you have coloured hair and will be having it done for the wedding (you should have it done two weeks before the big day) make sure you well conditioned after every colour you have.

6) I would also have a final trim at about two week’s before the wedding day this will get rid off all your split end and it will give your hair time to settle down is well.

7) It is not best to wash your hair on the day of your wedding day or the night before it is best to wash it 24 hours before as these will give it time to settle down.

8) Always use products that you have use before as you will not want to get an allergic reaction on the day of your wedding.

How to do a Vertical Roll

Posted by Louise On January - 16 - 2010ADD COMMENTS

Start by parting the hair in to four sections down the middle of the head and then from ear to ear making a cross.

Then with the two back sections you need to backcomb the roots and mid-lengths (do not backcomb to the tips of the hair as you will find it very hard to smooth over.

With the two top sections of the head you need to lightly backcomb them at the root this will give volume trying not to put to much round the front of the head as it will show.

Going back to the back sections of the head smoothing one side of the hair to the middle of the head and secure with grips.

Tip
Put grips in like a Chris cross affect this is so no hair can slide out and when you get to the top put one grip going down.

Then with the other side of the head smooth the hair back over to the middle of the head over lapping the section you have just done, rolling in the ends to tuck them in the middle to create a long bun then starting at the bottom of the head secure with grips to the top of head making sure they dont show.

With the top sections of the head start with one of the side smooth the hair to the back of the head with out flattering the hair to much add the hair to the back section securing with grips do same with other side,

Now with the top section you need to smooth and then blend in to the rest of the hair or you code make a curl making sure you still grip in to place.

The prom is a big night you have to have the right dress, shoes, and bags and most imported is the right hair style.
When trying to decide on how to have you hair it is always good to look at what you are wearing as different hair styles can look better with different dresses.

If you’re wearing a dress that has no sleeves or a halter neck your hair can look better down there are different way you can where you’re down weather it’s all down or you can have some u for example: You code have half up half down, you code put some twisted in to one side or both side and leave back down.
A never good idea when wearing your hair down is to add so light curl or a wave

If you’re wearing a dress with sleeves or a high neck your hair can look better up as these will show of the dress you can still wear your hair down if you wish, with wearing your hair up there are lots more things you can do with it.

1) After you have washed your hair towel dry and add your favourite product making sure you work it through the hair from root to tip.
2) Now you need to section your hair its best to section it in 4 different areas no1 at the top of the head. No2 and no3 at each side of the head and no4 at the back of the head (the nape of the neck).
3) Now you need your hairdryer and brush it is best to have a hairdryer with a nozzle. Start at the back of the head and work up to the top making sure you dry hair from root to tip.
4) Continue this all the way over the head only working on small areas from each of the sections. I always finish each part of hair with a cool blast this can help keep your style in shape.

How to blow-dry long hair straight

Posted by Louise On January - 16 - 2010ADD COMMENTS

Long hair
When blow-drying with a brush it depends on the length of the hair to what size brush you will need, long hair you will need to use a big round brush to make it straight, taking a small section of hair at a time putting the brush in at the roots under the hair and holding the dryer over the top of the hair always making sure that the dryer always faces down the hair shaft (roots down to tips). Holding the hair as tight as you can work the bush down the hair with hair dryer following the brush, Do this all over the head.

Tips on what you need

1) products
2) hair-dryer
3) large round brush (43mm to 53mm)
4) 2 hair dividers
